BusHy gOne BAd

One thing fab about gettin' pretty sick is gettin' pretty well..or at least feelin' better...which is how I'm feelin' right now after about three days of knock out bleary eyed blech to the achin' femurs existence...I'm sleepy though and would like to hit sack at 10:07 am...but can you hear that whirring purr in the back ground?..Uhuh..that's the washing machine brrrying with about 6 shirts..and I've still got about 5 jeans and socks to dump in....

I like washing clothes..there's something sublimely enchanting in seeing dirty black socks swirl madenningly around..I stare and stare and stare and pretending a Tumbelina me with the swimming whirling socks..murk..what fun! Can't doodle on imaginings right now coz' ho huuuum'..after I'm done I am sooo sleeping.

See the pic up there..( if there is coz' blogger dee doo doesn't seem to be cooperating with me here)..that's Bushy gettin' a rubby rub rub from me.

I must say he has been the naughtiest dog......just completely spoiled bad...

Took him to this hip doggy posh' place with a line up of professional groomers......like I was so excited coz' he was scheduled for a true blue royal pampering groom..and I collared him up and talked snoozy at him to be cool about this and to put on his best behavior and isn't it so exciting that his lovely auburn furry was going to be brushed up and goodness (!) he was going to be the Billy Idol of poochies....and think of all the other well connected poochies he was gonna' meet there..like there must be a doll of his dreams he'd fall for and who wouldn't be enamored with his good rough looks eh??.....

Seemed to understand what I was saying while I cuddled him up in the car...was excited even...soooo..

We got to the hip place and all the other dowgies there were just proud and mighty chin upped while ther furry coats were being brushed and styled. And the people there, they seemed to know what they were doing and just welcomed my handsome Bushy....You should have seen him coz' he was really a looker and all the other mommies and ladies there went "uuuuuuuuu..he is like so sweet..hellllooooow there hoooooooney"...

And shucks guess what happens next?..

My dowgie freaks out on this lady with tattooed eyebrows and flaming red lipstick..like just yelped "get your hands off me bitch!!"..hee! hee!hee!..

Shucks..so I apologize to the flame lipped woman whose lil' white poochie with out - standing ears was hoity toity ready to go...and the lady in offense said that my pooch was so unuuuuused to being in such a poshie oogle place...in short...uncultured..like uncivilized and uncultured....Unlike her lovely Daisy bum with ridiculous erect ears..and pumped up ball tail....and she walks away in a huff....leaving my hubby and I with embarassed smiles...

So I fill up some papers while the Hubz' gives last minute coaching to my now bewildered dowgie...who was taking this all in......staring questioningly at the caged dowgies and particularly at a couple of huskies whose nails were being cut off...

This guy with a mouthed mask comes over and takes me dowgie and the poor dowgie stiffens up like.."heeeeey...what's happening...mom..dad?"....And we wave goodbye to Bushy and he just stares and stares as we walked away....Gosh...felt like leaving a kid on his first day of nursery school....almost cried...me...and the Hubz just kept on calling..

"it's okaaaay booooooy...you'll look swell after all these yaah!!"...

then turning to me would ask.....

"he'd be okay there right??"

Aiiiiind me Hubz and I walk around to do some shopping all the while talking about how graaaand the family dowgie would look like afterwards and boy...were we goin' t show him off to the...theeeeen we got it..

the bling bling sound of his cellphone with a text message...

The groomers...informing us that they'd given up on my dog.... refused to wash the dowgy..who simply kicked and snarled and growled and threatened to sue anyone who as much as held a brush on him...Please come for him...they seemed to beg...

Oh frusssstrations...so we walked back to the dowgie joint with both ov' us wearing quizzical looks on our faces and we see him there...hopping and pounding on the glass door wanting to get out...and he sees us and started yelping "get me outa' here..freaks with scissors on the lose!" And all the other dowgies were like lookin' at him shakin their heads.....some cheering' him on with yelps and howlin' guffaws..and what a ruckus! LOL!!

And I pick him up and he licks my chin kinda' like sayin' "I knew you'd be back".....And I asked him what the matter was..and why the freakin' out...and didn't he want his furry bod to look like flashy model poochies and I could've sworn his grrgrouwrauuur was a definite statement of "nooooway Jose!!"...and that's that!

Me Hubz' all this time was trying to get the groomers to see the logic of challenge....like "you guys can fix up rotties and look..... this here's a sweet poodle..okay..maybe he's a little strung up..."

"No sir"..they went.."we're so sorry..but we know his type...he won't let anybody touch im' xept the ma'am there or you"....and that's that.....

So we sigh and walk around with Bushy here and ate steaming hot porridge instead..We gave the dowgie a plateful which he gobbled up...iced water too...he loved it....

And yesterday..my son washed him up..and after I'm done here and rested a bit I'm gonna' have to give him a furry cut...uhuh!...

So goes the story of the baddy' Bushy who is...right now...snuggled curled up between my feet...

I like the fact that he stood his ground!

What a great story...a down to earth pooch who doesn't need to LOOK like a "top dog"- to BE a top dog :)
Love it...
I'm getting over the ick- slowly...I need one more day and I'll be on the mend- but my son seems to be sick now...soooo :(
What comes around goes around!

Hugs to you Lux :) and to Bushy :)

i reckon there was too much going on.
my dog lets himself be groomed when there are not a lot of other dogs around. but mostly i do it myself... the washing and trimming of matted fur. ....come to think of it...my mutt has got some mud around his neck area....at least i'm hoping it's mud. no telling what he rolled in.
glad you are slowly starting to feel better. i know i am. it's been over a week now.

Pets ..they have their own mind. This cute one of yours just refused the hands of people he feels that shows no love! Anyway, he'll still look great just the way he is!

Dogs are pack animals. When you take one into your home, you're essentially serving as the rest of the pack. Bushy probably didn't realize that the separation was only temporary, and reckoned that he was being kicked out, hence the desperation, and the unwillingness to be washed and groomed.

Has Bushy ever spent much time in the company of other people? Without other family/pack members around?
