Spiritual Teacher

It’s almost 8 pm and I'm in my room….exhausted…but still with enough energy nonetheless to keep awake. I guess he’s comin’ home late…I don’t have any coffee anymore…I hope he doesn’t ask for any…oooh..gaaawd….I’m just tired…soooo tired…I wish I had a bottle of wine stocked up….just to soothe…but no…I don’t have any…no coffee…no wine…shoots…just tired….I wanna’ think of something else…something aside from all this work I’ve been doing….let me see…

Oh’ yeah…spirits…was thinkin’ of that awhile ago….was reminded coz’ I called up Grace …she wasn’t home yet…I remember pretty well what happened a couple ov’ years back when we were still workin’ together…

It was 3:30 pm…classes dismissed…but I had to stay behind coz’ I had an adult literacy class to teach late that afternoon till about 8 in the evening…It slipped my mind that that particular class was cancelled for the day…Slipped my mind so I waited on , checking test papers alone in my room…

So, alone and drowning in the silence around me, I decided to have a cup of coffee…..I went out the building…crossed the street to Oma’s…sat down….ordered coffee while browsing through a copy of Cosmopolitan…The coffee came…drank it then lingered on waiting for the students…no one came….

Around 5…still seated at the café…holding on to a glass of water… I see Grace leaving the school…..like absentmindedly crossing the street…..As she passed by Oma’s I yell…”Graciiie…have a cup ov’ coffee…. my treat!!”…Grace looks up…stops dead on her track then turns pale….

Whaaat?...Looks like you’ve seen a ghost!”…I joke…..

Wide eyed staring, she hesitantly walks inside the coffee shop then says to me…”Teacher Q…you can’t be here…your there!..”..pointing to the school…

“Ha!ha!ha!..like what the weirdo are you talking about?...been here since four”…I retorted….

No..no!!!!…I just left the school…you were still there….teaching…clause…phrases…….I heard your voice…It was wild echoing through the hallway…You have been teaching for almost an hour...which was why I remained in my room…..knowing you were in the other room teaching…I was with you….Oh’
sh*****….!!!!...

Then Grace sits down across me…with this death pale look on her eyes……I, on the other hand, felt little spiny tingles crawl through my arms…

I pretended to make light of what she was saying and asked if I chided anyone ( during my said lecture ) for mispronouncing a word…..She didn’t seem to hear me and instead went on mumbling …”you were there…you were there…I swear your presence…your voice…so loud…was there….”

Much to my embarrassment…the other teachers of course heard about this phantasm episode the next day and I became sort ov’ funnily labeled as the “spiritual teacher”…

Didn’t really know whether to be amused or annoyed…..Like if there really was a “spirit”…( of course every school has its own urban legend)…why emulate me???...why not the math teacher…or the social studies teacher…or the janitor?...why not just a plain white lady ghostly strolling through the hallway….gaaards….why my voice???.....

I still think about this incident once in a while…and other unusual incidents I’ve had while growin’ up….like actually seein’ something….when I was about 7..when I was about 12…when I was about 17….

seeing…

hearing…

feeling ....
them…….

gee, you are truly talented! I've often wished I could be in two places at once. Like the conscious me would go to the movies, while the other me that I'm not aware of would be working..

maybe your friend hears voices in her head? maybe there IS a spirit that emulates you, why not?

I've often said to my kids that I've got eyes in the back of my head and I am all-seeing but, gee, to be able to be in two places at once, that's cool!

Well, there have been a number of paranormal researchers who believe that most ghosts are those of living people, especially those living with some kind of stress.

There was a similar case reported of a London woman (referred to only as "H") whose husband commuted to Seattle (US) for his job. She wouldn't see him for weeks at a time, so she began to conjure up his spirit for, well, conjugal relations. The spirit appeared before her father (its father-in-law), and was able to speak to its owner in Seattle over the telephone. The phantom was allegedly photographed and videotaped.

That comes from the Fortean Society annals, so you can take that with a pillar of salt. Nevertheless, what your colleagues experienced is felt to be not all that uncommon. They say what's uncommon is when people see you right after or at the same time as your doppelganger, as was apparently your story.

I always wondered why people that who had been very nice to me on one meeting, were suddenly cold and distant at the next. Could it be???

Anyway, you or your colleagues might want to get in touch with the Fort people. They might just write an article about you.

Stay with the spirit. Not all are bad.

Could it be like those times that we drive to a destination without recalling how we arrived safely. Cruise Control kind of feeling. It is possible that you were there, still is the same dimension of space, but sometimes we have no control over our thoughts, they have their "own mind" literally. Hey, it will be my first time on Pinayland.

It would be handy to be able to do this on purpose. Sleep late, have the spiritual double take over your class, take over housecleaning...

As for me, if I cross my eyes I can sort of see double, but that's about as far as it goes.

Thanks for visiting my blog :)
What a fascinatingly weird occurance!
I believe there`s much in this world that we don`t understand.

I remember seeing a true story on tv about this woman who saw a house she really wanted to buy.
She kept picturing herself walking through it, she wanted it so bad.
It came up for sale. Her and her family went to see it. The real estate agent told them that the people were selling becaus eit was haunted. The woman who owned the house went white when she saw this woman.
She told her that SHE was the ghost they had seen.
It was much better when they told it on tv LOL
