Me' Sunday Road TriP

I find my universe friendly and sympathetic to my glums (days when I just feel like the world can do without me)...Like a real entity it manages to speak to my soul in soothing whispers through small surprises to break the monotony of drowning thoughts..Or maybe..it was because I have decided to banish this cousin of uncertainty that went visiting me the past weeks...that paved the way for a nice bit of sweet memory to once again fill my treasure chest.
I am grateful...

So last Sunday, we took a road trip. My husband spent the weekend Friday and Saturday in Canyon Woods, a pretty mountain country club in Tagaytay. It was a company thing so I couldn't come along. It turned out that Sunday he was invited as a special guest in a big thingy event in this place in Batangas...a province nearby Manila..about 2 or so...hours drive from where we live...
I wasn't planning..seriously to tag along....but he insisted it would be interesting for me to see this place...and the trip..yes..I was thinking it would be an adventure...So early in the morning I was so twirpy' just relaxed...enjoying the drive.. been so long since I've seen the sun rise over a highway..and that pic above was really tremendously beautiful for real...to feel the happy majestic rays of the sun touch your skin while green is all around....I love..love the feel of driving through the South Superhighway on an early morning..brings back memories of summer road trips of my childhood...

And I'm afraid I'm not much of a photographer to really capture the evocative beauty that I could see...like this bridge...that connects one town to another...lots of bridges like this...like it feels when you cross one..you cross a certain milestone..leaving behind one care at a time knowing that each bridge brings you closer to sand...sea....surf..or cool mountains with spring like weather....there's always a choice....

We brought the Terrano instead of the car...kinda' bumpy but it added to the thrill...and oh' yeah..we didnt know the way..lol!...The only map we had was what he printed from googlearth...I was holding on to it..telling him to make a right here...no..nope..wrong..ooops..it should have been a left..back up there..finally telling him to stop listening to my instructions...hee!hee!

We got there on time..safety was a priority..all guests were required to wear a hard hat ( me' first time so I was soooo self conscious...lol!)...and some sort of protective eyegear that covered me' nose too...hee!hee!...oh'..and gooosh.....they made me wear safety shoes...looked silly I thought so at first..but..when I started walking in them..ey'..kinda' cool...

And here's the Luxie hubby looking cool..whoooo hoo!..hee!hee!..took this pic and I just love it!!..

And another one...the sun was really hot...see those structures at the back..that's goin' to New Caledonia....yep'..will be loaded in a ship..dunno' how they're gonna' do that..must be an awesome sight..me hubby was explaining it to me....wish I could see it for real..

After the event we headed back to Manila stopping here and there in a couple of places...This is how our provincial roads look like..took a lot of similar pictures..but i love this the best....so peaceful...

Half way through we made a stop..had a bit of snack..talked about life..stuff...us...kids...others....then had coffee..this was about 3 in the afternoon or so....This was taken at the Total gasoline station in the expressway...I wish I could have taken a picture of everything..gasoline stations here are very nice...with Starbucks and Gloria Jeans and lots of choices for eating...or relaxing..very interesting coz' it's filled with all sorts of people off to go scuba or mountain trekking..specially during summer...

They had a lot of pretty stuff there.....

On our way back to the car a group of bikers were just getting off their bikes...I wanted to take pictures of them but went shy..they were big and blond and kinda' intimidating in there black jackets and bandanas..The blond bikers were with Filipino bikers who looked the same..brawn..and blond (?) I opted to just take a pic of zee' bikes...I have more lovely bike pics...will use them some other time...

And I as thinking I love to just travel....be on the road with a good companion....and we plan to do more travelling around the country...Inspite of the politicians...I love the Philippines, my home......God bless me..my family..my home..my friends...my country...I don't think any other place can make me feel this warm...

Sounds like a pretty nice way to spend a Sunday. I'm assuming that the Terrano is a pick up truck or SUV of some sort. I've never heard of it.

"Sigh"~
You make me wish I was with you...
the area reminds me so much of South Eastern China...(I guess so- you aren't really that far from where I was~)
It's pretty here too, but not like your place...it is still winter here- and we have no palm trees :)
My best friend and I are taking a trip to Florida in March...we will see Palm trees then!

Glad you had such a wonderful time~ the photos were lovely- and so are you and hubby :)

Continuing to be able to have experiences worth remembering - that's what really living is.
