Tampuhan

"Tampuhan"
by:
Juan Luna - 1895

That would be me. Had I been existing back in 1895....I would be dressed as such.....exactly.....to the pose....and even to the the house...

I grew up in a house like that...

"Bahay na Bato"......

"The Stone House"... it was called in our town....

A certified Spanish Casa almost a hundred years old. It stood towering over the nipa huts of the villagers during those ancient days. They said that the great grandfather ( son of a Spanish Friar..so the family legend goes....interesting..) who had it built was one of the first in our town to own a white carriage drawn by a white horse...

Sepia past...

But this isn't about horses or carriages or houses...No...

( sigh.....)

This is about today...

My weekend wasn't the peaceful breeze I anticipated.
But then such is life.
I can never really fully anticipate to get everything I anticipate for....No.. I guess not...

I am thankful yet..that it is Monday...my Monday....

Perhaps the peace that was elusive the weekend past can be enticed to stay on..finally... for the duration of the whole week..

Have a better weekend next time. There are so many of them - one every week :)

I just heard the song "Nao se apavore" and I think I'll try to download it.

There are other weekends in the year. Hopefully one of them will be more to your liking.
