Girlie' Chat

"Cultivate only the habits you are willing should master you."
- Elbert Hubbard-

That's me last March.

Hardly recognizable to the me now I should say.
You see, I have gained a significant amount of weight. I fit into those jeans still..thankfully..but not without struggle and bumps and sucking in air and obvious bulges and grunts and moans...I have given up on my white Regatta jeans and the brown Gap cargo...popped buttons...

It behooves me to think that I have...grown...in the most unlikely manner. Not to say there aren't any benefits..My cheeks for one have filled up stretching my facial skin and smoothing baby wrinkles...The mommy wrinkle lining my nose down to the right side of my upper lip is staying put though...

Not going anywhere.... ever...

I suppose..loyal to a tee'...

Doesn't show in the pictures but believe me it's there..I see it every day...It loves me.

Then again there's Botox...shivers to the thought...

I like looking like a pretty lady the way nature endowed me...I'm thankful to have eyes, nose, skin, ears, eyelashes ( wish they were longer though)..but I never went out of my way to actually take regular time to doll me up....well...the way I know a lot of other women... I know... religiously do.

I can count in my fingers the times I've visited a beauty parlor to have my hair done..Wouldn't reach five...wouldn't reach four...wouldn't reach three...I just wet it..apply whatever is available in the bathroom...rinse..then when inclined..have it fan dried. I'm a clutz with a professional hair dryer..

Speaking of hair...just thinking here but yesterday I read about the brazilian shave...wax rather....There's a beauty place here called Piandre' that offers it...Apparently..its a rave..(painful and expensive rave) to have ones..um..err...uuuuu'...eee'....drum..dee..drum'...drum..how should I say this...

eheerm'..eherm...

Apparently it is the "in" thing to have one's entire.... "beauty bush".... splattered with warm wax by a "professional"...um'.."beauty bush expert"...then after sometime have this "expert" violently if not torturing-ly yank off every strip and follicle of hair you've got "over there"...( look down)..eeeeew'....hee!..hee! hee! hee!

Beats the thrill of a triple loop roller coaster ride they swear...Beats the agony of childbirth even...uuuuuuuuh'...But those who've braved it claim the glories and pleasure of its worth........Duuuuno' about having someone torture me that way...I'd rather inflict it on myself....

Talking hair and so here because I'm noticing a few changes in me...uhuh'...

confessiOnz'...confezziOOOnz'....

My skin is freckled and spotted and sallow...My hips don't lie..They're...more...hmmm'...prominent...( okay wider...sigh!)...My tummy is wobbly..There seems to be smiling dimps in my cute derrière aaaand.... fascinating... but I believe my legs are developing red webby like veins...

Could it be that I have not been taking care of me?...

I know I am...cough..cough..age.."maturing"......but..but... I cannot accept that I will just sag apart this way...

Look...I am not even wanting to put off the weight...That is nOt my main concern...

( at least not until March is around the corner coz' that'z bikini season here...not that I've ever worn one...but was hoping to ...sooome day..you know...like to celebrate being 40..walk the beach like those chicks on baywatch did..hee! hee! hee!)...

In fact I look healthier with the additional pounds..It is the feeling of heaviness and back pain and lack of energy and panting that I am focusing on...

I'm taking care of me from now on. Not because I want to look ridiculously young...but because I want to live alive. My outer body reflects what's inside. Admittedly, I have basically been gobbling anything I fancy without restraint or thought for sugar or salt or cholesterol content..day after day...

The first step would be to stop eating junk.

There.

Said it.

No more Coke lights..root beer...Pepsi....No more pizza, fried chicken, Brothers Burger, Kettle Corn poured with ooozing butter...not even the barbeque flavor...Yep'..no barbeque's either...No steak...absolutely no steak..no beef..no soup with heavy cream..no caramel cakes..no chocolate moist brownies..nooo soft cookies...no getting up in the middle of the night for a glass of whole milk downed with 7 ( okay ten) MY San Danish style butter cookies...not even if I share it with my dog...No grilled pork chops...No potato salads..No paellas..lengua estofados...mechado....no lechooon ( roasted pork..think hawaiian luao..)...No Frappes....No cappuccinos....No crepes...nooo...hu! hu! hu!hu!hu!hu!...

Must discipline my taste buds...

That's it!!...

Must eat raw..veggies...juice...fruit...gluten..soya...

drum'..dee' drum..dee'..druum..

I can do this...I can do this..I can do this...

( Uh' oh'...party invite this Sat..guests coming on Sunday...geez'..)

concerning body weight..
i believe your body weight should be the weight at which you feel good and are still healthy. if you feel lethargic at your current body weight you probably just need to excercise.
i wouldn't cut out everything, luxie..
we all need a little bit of luxury in our lives after all.
i've actually been loosing weight since i've been on this blood pressure medicine. granted there are certain high sodium foods in don't eat anymore...like bacon, pizzas, etc and cut way down on my consumption of cheeses and bread products. and i exercise..

i KNOW i couldn't go for a painful hair removal procedure like that. i know in some places in the U.S. it's apparently a popular procedure. yikes..

my beauty regime.
shower, dry off, comb hair, apply lotion, deodorant, brush teeth, get dressed...
that's it. i let my hair air dry unless i think it will freeze into icicles during the winter..lol

as far as maturing physically....
heck, not much i can do about it, except watch my sodium intake, apply sunscreen, excercise..
and in general just embrace it.

Hi my sweet friend...

I think you are bea-uuu-ti-ful just the way you are.

And I know your hubbzies just adores you.

I try to age gracefully, but I guess whatever happens will happen.

We all go through these fluctuations. No giving up...take in moderation. You are still beautiful!

So your decision to eat less is with effect from the next day after of the party ?

Dont't forget to have grapefruit raw, if you want it effective.

First off, I ditto what Foam says.

Secondly, when we age, our metabolism slows down. So, we can get heavier, faster.

But I'm thinking that you're probably the only one who notices, especially if you can still wear the same pants. Your husband probably still sees you as you looked to him the day you met.
