Waxing Brownie Poetry

"I may not always be offered work,

but I'll always have my family."- Audrey Hepburn

So it is.

I am having a bit of a blunder in terms of work. Yes work...the kind that gets me paid money...which I use to purchase nose powder and Van Houten chocolate raisin bars...or Maltesers. At this point nothing seems to be going anywhere...sort of...there's a word for it...wait...."stuck"..that's it..."stuck."

I'm thinking maybe tomorrow I can bring this lil' notebook with me and relax in some quiet coffee shop. Alone. To rethink...stuff. N'ways, just when I was into this "stuck" thought I came across the Audrey Hepburn quote. Kinda' like the Universe telling me to take stock of what I have. Nice.

Which reminded me about the poem I said I would post. Just a silly poem I used to recite to the kiddos when they were babes...about 5 and 6 they were at that time. They had their own room and sometimes they couldn't sleep you see...You know how kids sometimes see things that glow in the dark. Well...thought I'd wax words about it...T'was fun for them to read during those days. Let me just recall...Here goes...eher..eherm...

ONE NIGHT
I SAW A LIGHT

THAT GAVE ME
A BIG BIIIIG FRIGHT!

SO I CALLED MY MOMMY
AND I CALLED MY DADDY

AND I SAID COME SEE!...
SEE THE LIGHT
THAT IS FRIGHTENING ME!

WHEN THEY OPENED THE DOOR
I WAS SCARED NO MORE

AND I LAUGHED SO HARD
BECAUSE IT WAS FUNNY...

FOR THE LIGHT I SAW
WERE ONLY THE EYES
OF MY CAT BROWNIE

( bow...)

i'm thinking what you do is kind of like freelancing. sometimes you'll be overwhelmed with work ... and sometimes not. and, yes, family is there if we are lucky.

What a great poem! Especially timely since my 9-yr-old daughter wants to sleep w/ the light on these days. She also sleeps with our big doggie! Here's hoping you emerge from the coffee shop with a full notebook and clear head!
