Thanksgiving Realizations

I am trying to fix up everything there is to manage in my switch to blogger beta. Everything about uploads seem to be easier but knowing me...sigh..it'll take some time before I can figure out the ins and outs and everything...I seem to have lost comment names and links...I'll have to do something about this..but..can't manage to right now..I 'll be busy once again the coming week...but I'll try to come by here...and visit everyone as well.

I would just like to say that the Thanksgiving posts I have read where really an eye opener for me. We don't celebrate Thanksgiving here..I wish we did....which made me think some..like..why do I have to go about the celebrations dictated by a nation...or a consensus of people. To celebrate means to have to be reminded of something significant..something with present value...something that touches the soul...

So you know what?...I'm going to write down the events I want to celebrate next year. Yes, my own roll of celebrations that include Thanksgiving Day!..I'm going to invoke new traditions in my home...that's what I'm going to do..I'll have to think about this very deeply...yes..yes...I'm just waiting for an opportunity to be really relaxed and quiet and contemplative...I'll look through the events that people around the world..in different nations celebrate..then if I feel that I can own the spirit of the event..if it touches me.. significantly...then I'll take the effort to celebrate it...hmmm..maybe I'll make my own hand crafted calendar and mark in those dates...yeah!

I have to prep dinner...I'll fix up this homey' bloggy here some time soon..and the reply to your comments will soon be put to writing as well...Thank you very much for being here...

PS: I have a lot of type errors in the previous post..gawd..it shames me...and maybe here to I'm sure..but I have no time to go back.....will get to it someday soon as well :->

Hey..you changed the template again. This one reminds me of chocolate..yummy! I had read many posts about Thanksgiving too and find it a nice way of expressing gratitude to God and how we appreciate our lives. I'm trying to apply it to my everyday life too..be thankful not only on a specific day, we can do it everyday.

Everday is a reason to celebrate. Can't wait to see your list of celebrations.

That sounds like the start of a wonderful tradition. Good for you.

I figure anyone can make their own holiday anywhere, anytime. I have little doubt that we Americans wouldn't mind if you celebrated with us on our day, and Canadians wouldn't mind if you celebrate on their day (which comes earlier in the year).

Then again, a birthday might be a good time for such a celebration. So might an anniversary of a fortunate event.

I want to have a "friends day" celebration- maybe right in the middle of your b-day in March, and mine in May- mid April maybe? :)
